Abi's journey

Feels like updating his journey back home last week. Remember in my previous post, i wrote about all his challenges & difficulties? Well, here's a short update on that.

He was supposed to board a chopper on Thursday afternoon, & back in KL on the same day. On a very last minute notice, his chopper was cancelled (due to contracting issues), so he (and all the crew change team) had no choice but to board a boat.

to board a boat, there were 2 options: fast crew boat (which will take around 8-12hours - talking bout fast, huh??) and the second option, the normal crew boat (> 14 hours onboard).

He pmed me around lunch hour, telling me all the craps that was happening (mind my language people...). I was quite disturbed with the news, because we were expecting him to be back as soon as possible. He then decided to board the fast crew boat, which scheduled to depart from his barge around 6pm. He also requested me to book him flight tickets back to KL on Friday morning.

Previously, he took Firefly directly from Kerteh to KL. No hassle, everything was easy. But this time, 1. no Firefly flights Kerteh-KL on Fridays, 2. there are 3 MAS flights from Kuantan-KL. I booked him a seat on the 10.20am flight on Friday morning via internet, with the idea that he will be able to make it on time.

Later on Thursday night, i received an email from him, saying that he will only be able to board the boat by 11pm, due to high tides & bad weather. & no more news from him from then onwards.

On Friday morning, still no news of him. by 9am, i received a missed call from him. i thought he was safe & sound on land. But i was WRONG! he's still in the boat, at KSB, waiting turns to deport. Arrgghhh!!!!! By 10.20am, i can guessed that he will missed his flight...

11.30am, my instincts were right. He was finally on land by 11am, and he have to turn back to Kerteh Airport to get his phone, & find a cab to Kuantan. He asked me to change his flight to a later time. The only available time was 7.15pm.

So, i call MAS. but to call MAS customer service, took me 30 DAMN MINUTES just to get someone to pick up the phone!! (they're customer service sucks!) and to change the flight, it took me another 15 minutes!!! Arghhh!!!! but i finally managed to book his seat, with additional RM100 as no show fee. (demit!! it's not intentional ok!!!)

So after work, i drove straight to KLIA, and waited...& waited...i window shopped a lil' bit, had chocolates for baby, & after waiting for almost 30 hours, i finally saw a familiar face, someone whom i missed dearly for the past 2 weeks...

The rest? HISTORY... (eh, paham2 la sendiri ek!!) :P
